I recently changed my email from me@tomosmcc.com to what you can find here (I haven’t written here to keep it obfuscated from the email spam bots). In the contact me page, I obfuscated my old email from the email spam bots by writing it in html entities. When I did a search for a website to convert plain text into entities, to obfuscate my new email, I came across this site. I was surprised to learn that the method I was using wasn’t really effective. I decided to go with the “1.4 HTML SVG” method for obfuscation, and it’s working well. For a bit of extra (but unnecessary) protection, I put the svg file in /ssh/more/secret/last/contem.svg. The word contem is a mixture of contact and email. I got rid of the imported font in the example and used sans-serif, as well as some other adjustments. I also wrote in text in the svg in html entities for even more obfuscation. I’m also thinking about Incorporating “1.5 CSS Display none” into it as well, but that’s probably a bit overkill. Anyway, I would highly recommend the methods on this site.
